Vacheron Constantin: Overseas in the Dunes

ABOUT
A stills campaign for Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, shot in the dunes at Lancelin, north of Perth. The brief put the Overseas where its name suggests it belongs: out in the world, a long way from a boutique. Lancelin's white dunes gave us a landscape that could pass for anywhere on the planet, ninety minutes from the city.

APPROACH
Luxury product work is about restraint, so we kept everything minimal: one talent, linen and neutrals, and the landscape doing the heavy lifting. We shot across the change of light, from hard golden hour through to the pink and violet of dusk, so the same location delivers what feels like several. The watch had to read as detail and as hero, so the set moves from wide, lone-figure frames down to macro on the dial.
IMPACT
The campaign gives Vacheron Constantin imagery that places the Overseas in a genuinely wild landscape without losing the polish the marque demands. For us it's proof we can hold a Swiss luxury standard on location in WA, where the nearest power point is a long way from the nearest dune.
