This is part of Stories from the Road, and it belongs to Lucy and Adam Sands, the owners of RedSands Campers and the operator chosen for the film. RedSands hire 4WD campers for self-drive trips through the Kimberley, and the story is theirs: why they love the work, and what it takes to run a tourism business this far from anywhere.
APPROACH
Lucy and Adam drove us through the East Kimberley, from Kununurra out to Lake Argyle and into El Questro, and we let them talk as we went. We built the film around the two of them and their journey rather than the destination, so it is their reasons and their life that carry it, with the country sitting behind them.
IMPACT
This is an operator story, not a location reel. Lucy and Adam's love for what they do does more to sell the trip than the landscape on its own, and it gives Tourism WA a film built on the people who actually run the experience, which is the whole point of the campaign.
