ABOUT
This was made for the opening of The Lodge Wadjemup on Rottnest Island. The lodge was still under construction when we shot, so the film leans on the island itself, introducing the property through the destination it sits in rather than the rooms and facilities.
APPROACH
With the build still underway, we shot around what we had and let Rottnest carry the story. The film sells the place first, the reasons someone would want to be on the island, so the lodge arrives as part of somewhere people already want to go rather than a set of rooms on their own.
IMPACT
The piece gave The Lodge Wadjemup a launch film built for exactly its situation, a new property introduced through its setting before the doors were open. It let them start selling the stay early, on the strength of where it is, with the facilities to follow once they were ready.
