ABOUT

Dingo Yachts builds bespoke performance vessels out of Fremantle, and the best place to show what they do is open water. We took the shoot to Rottnest, capturing their custom builds at speed on the crossing and at rest in the island's bays, the way an owner would actually live with the boat.

APPROACH

Boats photograph best from other boats and from the air, so this was a multi-platform shoot: on-water for the low, fast angles and drone for the top-downs that show hull lines and wake. Shooting at speed on open water means the conditions run the schedule, so we planned around the sea state and light rather than a fixed shot list, and kept moving until we had both the adrenaline frames and the quiet ones.

IMPACT

The shoot gave Dingo Yachts imagery that sells both halves of their promise: the performance and the lifestyle it buys. For us it shows the luxury end of what we do on water. Boat-to-boat and aerial work, finished to the standard a bespoke builder's buyer expects, and the kind of job our CASA drone licence exists for: legal, insured aerials over open water from a moving platform.
