ABOUT

The Cottesloe Beach Hotel sits across the road from WA's most famous beach, and this campaign was built on exactly that. Four edits covering the venue: the updated menu, the walk from the sand to a table, and the message at the heart of it, come straight from the beach, sandy feet welcome. One edit belongs to Tigerfish, the hotel's new Southeast Asian bar and dining room, shot for its own audience with its own energy.

APPROACH

The campaign's job was to collapse the distance between a swim and a seat, so we shot the journey the message describes: out of the water, across Marine Parade, drink in hand, no outfit change required. The menu work runs through it, with plates shot in the venue's light rather than a studio's. Tigerfish needed different handling, since the venue is bar-first, Southeast Asian and built around the robata grill's theatre, so its edit runs hotter and faster than the hotel's, while staying recognisably the same address.

IMPACT

The hotel got a campaign that turns its location into an instruction, four edits it can run separately across the season, and a launch piece for Tigerfish that gives the new venue its own voice from day one. For us it's the third Prendiville Group property we've shot, after Samphire and Hotel Rottnest, and there's no better evidence for a hospitality group weighing up a content partner than another group coming back twice.

Let’s create something worth watching.
