ABOUT

Barbagallo Marine is the exclusive Australian dealer for Pirelli speedboats, the Italian-built RIBs carrying the tyre brand's motorsport DNA onto the water. We shot the new range for their local launch, putting the boats where the buyer will use them: on the WA coast, at pace.

APPROACH

A Pirelli boat is sold on the same instincts as the cars in the Barbagallo showroom, so we shot it like an automotive campaign that happens to be wet. Low, fast, boat-to-boat angles for the performance, drone top-downs for the hull lines and the tread-pattern tubing, and stiller frames at anchor for the lifestyle half of the pitch. Sea state and light set the running order, and we shot until we had both.

IMPACT

Barbagallo Marine got launch content that puts an Italian brand in local waters, showing WA buyers the boat in their own backyard rather than the Mediterranean. For us it sits alongside the Vacheron Constantin and Dingo Yachts work as proof we can hold a European luxury standard on location in WA. Same discipline as an automotive campaign, on a surface that moves.
