ABOUT

A day-in-the-life piece following an AMSA Port Marine Surveyor through their shift, produced with PerthIsOK!. We spent the day on board a bulk car carrier in port, shooting interviews, drone coverage and b-roll of the work most people never see: the checks and inspections that happen between a ship arriving and its cargo rolling off.

APPROACH

One day, one vessel, no second visit, so the shoot plan had to earn every hour. We ran interviews around the officer's actual schedule rather than pulling them off the job, kept a small footprint on a working deck, and used the drone to show the scale a car carrier only reveals from the air. Access like this comes with real induction and safety overhead, and being comfortable in that environment is why we get these calls.

IMPACT

The film puts a face on work the public rarely sees and gives AMSA a recruitment and awareness asset that feels like a story rather than a corporate explainer. For us it's proof we can walk onto a working vessel with a full kit, meet the compliance requirements, and come off with a finished piece from a single day on board.

Let’s create something worth watching.
